FIRST RESPONDERS PRAYER

Commit to pray for Chicago’s First Responders for 15 minutes a day. This page will be updated with new prayer points provided by local healthcare professionals, CPD and others as they work on the front lines in this unique season.

If you are a First Responder, please let us know how we can be praying for you by submitting requests below!

CUIP 24/7 PRAYER WATCH

We’d like to invite you to join us in a deeper expression of prayerful engagement in this citywide perpetual prayer initiative. As we gather as the collective Body of Christ, it is our hope to establish a 24/7 Prayer Watch in Chicago, with Churches and Ministries taking an hour prayer slot (or more) each week.

Sign your church up to do at least one hour of prayer each week, (or add your church’s current weekly prayer meeting). You will then receive a follow up email giving you greater detail.

PRAYER POINTS

  • Pray for our CPD and all those involved in making sure that Chicago is safe during the huge increase of random acts of violence, gun violence, looting and murders in our city these past few months. Pray for miraculous healing and restoration in every area of the city.
  • Please pray for protection over every Police Officer from random attacks of dishonor and violence against them.
  • Pray for wisdom for Mayor Lightfoot and CPD Superintendent, David Brown in just how to dispatch police coverage in our city.
  • Please continue to pray for an increase of divine protection over all ED nurses, hospital staff, respiratory therapists, nurse aides and cleaning crew as they are preparing for a possible increase of  COVID-19 cases this fall.
  • Please continue to pray for nursing homes, senior care centers, home health workers and their patients. Pray for wisdom, healing and recovery, and for their continued protection.
  • Please pray that the Lord would use this season to bridge the gap in neighborhoods between the CPD and residents.  Pray that there would be a great increase of cooperation and involvement by those who live in every neighborhood of Chicago, with Block Clubs, CAPS etc.

May the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another…that you may with one
mind and one mouth glorify the…Father…May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rom. 15:5-6,13

The Church of Chicago

  • Please pray for the Church of Chicago to have the mind of Christ right now and to hear Him clearly in responding to the recent unrest in our city and huge increase of violence.
  • Pray that the prophetic and timely Word of the Lord would be released to the Church in this hour.
  • Please pray that the Church of Jesus Christ would be awakened during this time and be the burning and shining lamps of hope in our city.
  • Pray for an increase of Peace Campaigns to flood our neighborhoods and that the Church would use their God-given authority to bind the enemy in our city and loose the shalom of the Lord in partnership with Jesus in this hour.
  • Pray for this moment to spur the Church on into a season of repentance, supernatural healing, racial alignment. and action.
  • Please pray that the Church of Chicago would MODEL servant leadership, racial healing, reconciliation and alignment in our churches and communities.
  • Pray for our Street Pastors as they respond to the fatal shootings of children and adults in our city. Pray for their protection, both spiritually and physically. Pray that they would have healing in their hands.
  • Please pray for a Spirit of unity to be released in our city at every level. Pray for unity among the Church especially.  That we would work together to bring healing and restoration in our city.

THAT He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His
Spirit in the inner man, THAT Christ may dwell [manifest His presence] in your hearts through faith; THAT
you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend [experience] with all the saints what is the
width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; THAT you may be
filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians. 3:16-19

Chicagoland

  • Please pray for Churches, CAPS & Block Clubs around the city to find effective ways to reach into their hurting neighborhoods during the challenges we are facing as a city right now.
  • Please pray for an increase of angelic protection around our children vulnerable to the shocking rise of gun violence in the Chicagoland area.
  • Pray for the church leaders in every neighborhood to have wisdom as they navigate through the tragedy of gun shootings in their communities and try to bring healing to traumatized families.
  • Pray that the Church would release a clarion call to radical prayer and fasting in our city.
  • Pray for a spirit of cooperation to be over everyone as we still need to practice social distancing in public spaces.
  • Please pray for the salvation of business owners and restaurants owners, that they would put their trust in the Lord as their businesses and restaurants face the threat of going out of business.
  • Please pray that COVID-19 cases would still continue to decrease in greater measure even after such an increase of gatherings in the summer.

That the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes
of your understanding being enlightened; that you may KNOW [experience] what is the hope of His calling
[assurance/clarity of God’s call for our life], what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints [our
destiny as Jesus’ inheritance], and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,
according to the working of His mighty power…

Ephesians. 1:17-19

We have expectant hearts that these 24/7 prayer initiatives will empower our intercession in an even greater way as we undergird this city with strategic intercession all year long and intercede for our First Responders.

Please be encouraged and emboldened in your prayer times as we agree in faith for the “prayer points” that will be posted on the CUIP website at the beginning of each month. Each prayer point is only a springboard into praying what the Lord gives you during your prayer times.

And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off?  I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

– Luke 18:7-8
